ELDs: JLE uses PeopleNet not Qualcomm as ELDs and satellite communications. You will learn how to operate the system in orientation. *

Routes: JLE operates primarily (90%) east of the Mississippi along with some volume into TX, OK, MO, NE, and IA and very minimal if any freight moving into the Western 11 states. This means JLE services the northeast region of the country as well. We do avoid NYC and NJ as much as possible, focusing on keeping our drivers moving. *

Length of Haul: The average length of haul of a JLE customer’s load averages between 400-500 loaded miles per load most weeks. This means you could have several days in a row where you have a delivery, a pickup, and then have to run all in the same day. Getting empty as early as is safely and legally possible each day gives you the best chances of getting another load that day. Our high standards drive our Professional Drivers to higher incomes. Staying on time and getting empty as early in the day as possible gives your dispatch team more options to get you reloaded and moving.*

Tarps: JLE’s freight mix has 80% tarp freight, which means our Professional Drivers will tarp 3-5 times per week on average utilizing 8’ tarps. *

Speed: JLE trucks have speed limiters governing speeds at 65 on the pedal and 68 when set on the cruise. This is to encourage Professional Drivers to utilize cruise control when at four lane highway speeds. All JLE Professional Drivers are expected to run at speeds no higher than the legal speed limit. *

Transmissions: 100% of our new trucks are equipped with automated manual transmissions. These give our Professional Drivers the feel of a manual, with the added efficiency in power and fuel usage of an auto. We can not guarantee the exact truck that will be available for you when you complete orientation. *

The JLE fleet of trucks is 100% equipped with SmartDrive Event Recorders:

These are NOT surveillance cameras… no one can look in on you in real time. These devices ONLY record “events”: speeding, hard braking, swerves, impacts, etc. These events are saved in 20 second clips… 10 seconds prior to the “event” and 10 seconds after the “event”. No other information is saved or available to be viewed beyond these “events”.

  • Many JLE Professional Drivers go months without a single “event” that is recorded. Others may only have 20-40 seconds a month of recorded events.
  • Recorders face the exterior out the windshield and face the interior pointed at the driver aka “driver facing event recorder”.
  • Professional Drivers can turn the driver facing recorder OFF when the truck isn’t in motion, the exterior facing recorder stays on in case your truck is hit while off-duty.
  • We use the events recorded for exoneration in non-preventable accidents, praise in accident avoidance, and coaching. The intent is to have the SAFEST fleet of Professional Drivers.

Dependent on the area in which you live along with your level of success and production, JLE can offer weekly home time.

  • This does not mean weekends at home, this means 34-48 hours off at home “weekly”. Many times a weekend day will be included in your 34-48 hours off at home.
  • We are not hiring for any positions where a Professional Driver is guaranteed home Friday, back out Monday. New hires are limited to 34-48 hours off if taking weekly home time.
  • JLE does encourage Professional Drivers to work through weekends when possible. This will help the Professional Driver and the company both earn more pay and revenue.
  • If not going home weekly, Professional Driver home time will be commensurate with how many weeks the Professional Driver went between home times.

At JLE, new Company Drivers are paid 27% of linehaul revenue plus some accessorial activity pay per policy (detention, tarping, layover, etc.) *

I agree to run JLE's entire freight network. *
